How we collect, use and protect your personal information under South Africa's POPIA.
1. About this policy
Novelty Decor respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). We are the responsible party, based at 33 voorloper Cres, Mossel Bay, South Africa 6500, South Africa.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to quote, supply and support you: your name, business name, contact number, WhatsApp number, email address, delivery address, order and quote details, and payment references. We do not collect or store your card details on this website.
3. How we use it
We use your information to prepare quotes, process and deliver orders, arrange installation and warranty claims, provide after-sales support, keep accounting records as required by South African law, and — where you have asked for it — send you product and promotion updates.
4. Cart and quote data on your device
Your cart and quote list are saved in your browser's local storage so they are still there when you return. That data stays on your device and is only sent to us when you submit an order or quote request.
5. WhatsApp enquiries
When you contact us through WhatsApp, your message and number are processed by WhatsApp under its own privacy terms. We use the details you send only to answer your enquiry and to follow up on your quote or order.
6. Sharing your information
We share your details only where needed to fulfil your order: with our suppliers for stock and warranty claims, with couriers and transporters for delivery, and with our bank and accountants for payment and record-keeping. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
7. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse, and we limit access to staff who need it to do their work. No online transmission can be guaranteed as completely secure.
8. How long we keep it
We keep order and invoice records for at least five years as required by South African tax and company legislation. Enquiry and marketing details are kept until you ask us to remove them or they are no longer needed.
9. Your rights under POPIA
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, request that we correct or delete it, object to how we process it, and withdraw marketing consent at any time. Send your request to our contact details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
10. Cookies and analytics
This site uses only the storage needed to keep the site working, such as your cart and quote list. If we add analytics or advertising tools in future, we will update this policy before doing so.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The version published on this page applies from the date you read it.
